What is TED?
TED, a nonpartisan nonprofit, is dedicated to sharing impactful ideas, typically through brief and powerful talks. Established in 1984 as a conference uniting Technology, Entertainment, and Design, TED now spans nearly every topic—from science and business to global issues—across over 110 languages. Additionally, TEDx events, independently organized, bring these ideas to communities worldwide, fostering local conversations that inspire global change and encourage individuals to engage with new perspectives.
What is TEDx?
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of independently organized, local events designed to create a TED-like experience by bringing people together. At each TEDx event, TED Talk videos and live speakers unite to ignite meaningful discussions and connections among attendees, sparking curiosity and innovation within the community. These gatherings are branded as TEDx, where "x" signifies an independently organized TED event. Although the TED Conference provides general guidance, each TEDx event operates independently, adhering to specific rules and guidelines, allowing for diverse interpretations of the TED experience on a local level. Through TEDx, communities worldwide are empowered to explore, question, and drive change in impactful ways.
